EXPERIMENTAL FARMS
To the Editor Sir, —I notice in your columns that the Winton A. and P. Association at its meeting, passed a resolution in favour of extending the size of its experimental farm to some 300 acres and asking the co- I operation of thc Wallace A. and P. Association. It may be information to some to know that at a meeting of farmers held in. Otautau at which the member, Mr A. Hamilton was present, that gentleman gave us the assurance that the Minister promised a grant towards an experimental farm in the Western District. Now it is for the Wallace and P. Association to say whether it is better to join hands with the Winton people or to have an experimental farm in their own district. I am, etc., “FARMER.” Heddon Bush, October 3. DRAINS AND STENCH To the Editor Sir, —The above combination regularly meets pedestrians at the south-east corner of Spey and Deveron streets, and why it is allowed to continue Ido not know. Perhaps you could make enquiries with a view to ascertaining if it is impossible to have a stench-trap installed. Something should be done. Ask anyone who uses bpey street and endorsement of this complaint must follow. 1 am, etc., HEALTH.
