The Whangape, 2931 tons, arrived from Dunedin at 11.30 a.m. She will sail about Wednesday for Sydney. The A. and A. lane steamer, City of Dunedin, arrived at Auckland last week from New > urk. The vessel is to put out part cargo at Auckland, and will then come on to Wellington, where she is du? next Monday. She is later to proceed to Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Melbourne, to complete discharge. The British Imperial Oil Company's steamre Cyrena is at present loading oil at Singapore for Napier, Wellington, Timaru and Dunedin. The Otaki, to discharge in New Zealand Under the agency of the Federal Company, is reported to have sailed from New \ ork on Thursday last for Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australian ports. She should arrive at Auckland at the end of October. The vessel has cargo for discharge at all ports. According to cables received, the Orient Steam Navigation Company has invited tenders for the construction of a new steamer for the Australian mail service. It is generally reported that she is to be the largest and fastest motor ship afloat.

The next Shaw-Savill overseas vessel to arrive in New Zealand will be the Mahia, ■which sailed from Liverpool on September & with cargo for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. She should Teach Auckland on October 8 and Wellington a week later.

The ('. and D. Company's latest despatch from London was that the Port Dennison sailed on Friday last for Dunedin, Lyttelton, and New Plymouth, with part cargo for discharge at each port. She is expected at Dunedin about November 2.

The Union Company notify that the Wai is at present at Vancouver and will ater proceed to San Francisco to complete loading, sailing from there early in October for New Zealand ports. Later in the month the Waiotapu will also load for New Zealand and Australian ports. Both these vessels will bring shipments of new season’s Californian canned and dried fruits.
