Mr H. Fowler returned to Dunedin by yesterday’s express. The marriage of Mr C. Munnings to Mias L. Chilman, was solemnised in St. John’s Church yesterday morning, the couple leaving by the express in the afternoon. Mr William Duke, who was well known ,in connection with the butchering btaanea® at Dunedin, died last evening, says a Pres® Association telegram. A Sydney Press Association cable, states that Mr J. N. Mason, Crown Prosecutor, at the Wagga quarterly sessions collapsed during a caee and died a few minutes later. When the South Island Oairy Association meeting opened yesterday, the chairman, Mr T. A. Buckingham, apologised for the absence of the president, Mr H. J. Middleton, who had not sufficiently recov’cred from his recent illness to attend.
A London Press Associ.aiion cable reports second son of the fourth Earl of Onslow, second son of the fourth Earl ofOnstow. The Hon. Huia Onslow was bom in this country in 1890 during his father's Governorship.
The death of Mr Fiederick George Ewington, aged 79 is announced by an Auckland Press Association telegram. Arriving by the ship Indian. Empire in 1862, he served in the Maori War. He was formerly a member of the Prisons’ Board.
A London Press Association cable states that the Royal Institute of British Architects awarded Mr George Checkiey, a New Zealander, the Henry Jervis Studentship, worth £2OOO, tenable at the British School in Rome.
A Paris Press Association cable announces the death, in a nursing home, of the Prince of Monaco. Albert, Sovereign Prince of Monaco, was bom in 1848 Hu first wife was Lady Mary Douglas-Hamil-ton, daughter of the eleventh Duke of Hamilton.
