TROOPS IN SIBERIA. A STATEMENT BY TCHITCHERIN. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association) LONDON, May 22. (Received May 23, 5.5 p.m.) Mr Chamberlain replying to a question in the House of Commons, referred to a statement reported to have been made by M. The British Government would not make friendly representations to Japan to evacuate Russian territory without delay as it relied on the fulfilment of the Japanese Government’s undertaking.
