CHICAGO LABOUR WAR
ASSUMING GRAVE PROPORTIONS. SEVERAL POLICEMEN KILLED. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association) NEW YORK, May 23. (Received May 23, 11.55 p.m.) The Chicago labour war is assuming grave proportions. Two men who are believed to have been attempting to bomb a house in process of construction by nonunion labour hurled a policeman through a window, resulting in his death. Three policemen were killed by labour forces in a fortnight The City Court judge declared that a state of war existed in Chicago. The Chief of Police, Mr Fitzmorris, has ordered all policemen to shoot labour gangsters on sight.
