INDUSTRIAL SHOW

SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITION AT NIGHTCAPS The Nightcaps Horticultural and Industrial Society held a most successful initial opening on Friday, the number of exhibits totalling 441, which were of high standard, and keen interest was manifested in the poultry, baking and vegetable sections, where competition was very keen. The attendance in the afternoon was very good, but a crowded hall assembled to hear Mr A. Hamilton, M.P., declare it officially opened at 8 p.m. In the course of an interesting address he congratulated the people on the number and the fine quality of the exhibits and the committee upon the undoubted success, which #ad been attained by their efforts. In declaring the show open, he congratulated the prize winners, and trusted the losers would turn the tables next year and all would exhibit freely and make the show a greater success. The arrangements were supervised by Mr W. Excell, president, while the committee with Mr A. G. Thomson as secretary, carried out the show in a praiseworthy manner, and the financial results exceeded the most sanguine supporters’ hopes. Appended is the prize list. Judge: Mr J. Milne.
