MEN’S YOUTHS’ AND BOYS’ REQUIREMENTS.
The high cost, of clothing is now a thing of the past is amply demonstrated by the progressive firm of H. <fc J. Smith Ltd., who offer great values in men’s and. boys’ clothing. The firm’s un-to-date business methods, coupled with their expert buyers, buying at a favourable rate of exchange have enabled them to considerably reduce their prices. The reductions are genuine and challenge comparison. The firms modern factory is another factor. A natural corollary to mass production in reduced costs—thus the countless stocks of pyjamas, shirts etc. made on the premises are turned out at a Ettle over cost. Inepr .on of the extensive stocks will convince the most sceptical. The increasing patronage and consequent increased turnover has compelled H. & J, SMITHS’ to remove into larger premises, and they were fortunate in securing the late Price and Bulleids’ building. That speaks for itself, so also will the following list of the firm’s special lines taken at random. Men’s heavy overcoats (Kaiapoi and Mosgiel tweeds) in fashionable shades and styles ranged from 49/- to 115/-. Strong waterproof coats, ideal for wet weather 35/-. In suits the firm offers great variety and great value. The latest style and colour were represented by piles of suits in heavy and light tweeds, and more partisularly in sports' suits. Heavy saddle tweed (Roslyn), Petone worsted and tweed suite from 65/- to 115/-. For the business man these suite will be a distinct asset. “Clothes make the man,’’and clothes certainly count in the business world. A suit destined to be popular is H. A: J.’a special utility suits, guaranteed to fit any figure. Turning to youths’ suits, these are also featured in th? prevailing styles, price 75/-. The various accessories, such as linen handkerchiefs, silk pocket, handkerchiefs, collars, wide end silk ties, smart bow ties, shirts, socks etc, are ehared in the general cut. For genuine borsalino hats in slate, brown etc. narrow brimed and vice versa, 25/-. was asked. It is worthy of note that the original price was 35/-. Velour hats were from 17/6 and fur felt 15/-. Substantial kid and suede gloves, well lined, were exhibited at 12/6 to 22/6. The firm also displayed complete outfits for youths’ and boys’ wear, in fact everything appertaining to man’s wante in the dress line is stocked by Southland’s most progressive firm, H. & J. SMITH, LTD., Tay Street, Invercargill and Main Street. Gore.—(advt.) Refuse substitutes. Insist on “NAZGL,” the scientific remedy and preventive of coughs and colds. 60 dn— .V6.—(AdvlJ
