PORT OF BLUFF. 8.8. Kakapo (Captain Cox) arrived from Greymouth at 11 o'clock yesterday morning to discharge 560 tons of coal, after which she will load 1166 crates of cheese for transhipment to the Tekoa at Dunedin. 5.8. Waikouaiti (Captain Ryan) is expected to sail for Dunedin at mid-day. Ss. Matakana arrived from Wellington last evening. She is expected to berth about 6 a.m. to-day. From to-day the wages of the Waterside Workers will be reduced by Ijd per hour. ARRIVAL OF THE lONIC. WELLINGTON, May 15. The lonic, which arrived at Wellington on Sunday and berthed to-day, brought 82 saloon and 441 steerage passengers, a total of 523. Measles broke out during the voyage, but the epidemic was not serious and was to the third class passengers, half a dozen children being attacked. The last -ase was on April 29. Two days before the vessel reached port Mrs Morris fell and broke her leg. The lonic will put off cargo at Wellington and will leave here on Saturday or Sunday for Lyttelton to complete discharge and commence loading. She will then proceed to Port Chalmers to continue loading. She is due back at Wellington on June 5. Some of the immigrants are ex-service men and others are coming out as nominated passengers.
