Farmers are offering practically nothing, and any business doing is restricted to merchants. Quotations are from 2/6 to 2/7 for “A” grade Gartons at country stations, and 2/2 to 2/4 for “B’s.” Algerians have been moving to some extent at 2/- to 2/4. Cocksfoot is firm, and sales of dressed seed have been made at Bsd perib., equal to about 5Ad for average farmers’ undressed Cowgrass is in firm inquiry at lOd to 12d. Some sales of particularly good farmers’ Undressed have taken place at over the latter figure. Dressed cowgrass has been traded at 135/- per cwt. (1/2$ per lb.). Peas are firm at up to 8/- at country Mations. White clover is quoted from 1/3 to 1/5. Potatoes have eased, and sales have actually taken place at 77/6 a shade less than £3 to farmers. Few offers are being made at this price by growers. North Otago production is moving southward, the southern crop being disappointing, so that £ long view of the position is that an improvement may take place later. The present depressed prices are due solely to the over-consigning. At the moment quotations are from £2 17/6 to £3 at country stations. Fowl feed has receded in price and is now Quoted at 4/6 to 4/9 f.o.b.si. FOREIGN EXCHANGE
