WOMEN AS SPORTS

Now-a-days our women folk indulge in sports of all kinds. At the race meetings you find them taking an intelligent interest in “the sport of kings,” and betting just as knowingly as men. The Sports among the gentler sex are just as indignant as all real Sports about the unfairness of our Gaming Law which permits gambling in one form but suppresses it in another. All good Sports of either sex can assist the cause of sport in general by signing the petition asking to have the Gaming Law revised. It is true the bigots, who have a big say in running the country, were given a “jolt,” and now is your chance to administer it. The petition has been freely circulated, and you can sign it almost anywhere. When petitions are filled up they should be promptly returned to Box 1011, Wellington.—Advt.
