FALLS OF STONE. TWO MEN KILLED IN QUARRIES. (Per United Press Associationj WHANGAREI, May 5. Two fatalities of a similar character occurred in the Whangarei district to-day. Richard Lose, a young man Jost his life by a fall of gravel in a quarry at mea, the owner of the property having his wrist broken at the same time. Another young man named Alexander Usher was killed by a fall of stone at the Whangarei County Council’s quarry at Whareora. Two other workers, H. and C. Akast, suffered a broken leg and minor injuries respectively. SAWMILL WORKER KILLED. HAMILTON, May 5. Joe Turner, 21, was killed at a sawmill at Pirongia, being struck by a log which rolled off a truck.
