RED CROSS SOCIETY

ANNUAL MEETING ADJOURNED. The annual meeting of the Southland Red Cross Society was held in the Council Chambers yesterday morning Mr R. A. Anderson, chairman of the executive, presiding over an attendance of eleven. The chairman formally moved the adoption of the report and balance sheet which Mr W. J. P. Hodgritins seconded. The motion was carried. The sale of the society’s car was discussed and the chairman, pointed out that if the sale were sanctioned, the Society could still hire a car for the benefit of Hospital patients whenever one was required. On the motion of Mr Hodgskins, seconded by Mr J. A. Hanan it was decided to sell the car. The meeting then adjourned until Wednesday, May 17 at 8 p.m. for election office-ba&zezg and I
