OPERATION OF AMENDING LEGISLATION. AN AGREEMENT REACHED. The Gas, Water and Trams Committee of the Invercargill Town Council and a deputation from the Southland Electric Power Board consisting gx Messrs W. Hiachey, A. W. Rodger, Pv. A. Anderson, H. Fowler, C. Campbell and Mr Thomas recently conferred regarding the operation of the Electric Power Board's Amendment Act of 1922. The results of the conference are given in the report of the committee to be presented at to-morrow evening’s meeting of the Town Council. The clause in the report, referring to the matter states that- it has been agreed, first: That the Power Board will support the Borough in requesting the Government to amend Section 4. Clause B, in the Electric Power Board’s Amendment Act, 1922, so as to exclude Southland from its provisions. Second: That the matter of readjusting the boundaries of the area at present licensed to the Borough, will he taken into consideration.
