VAGRANT VERSE

A GIDDY LITTLE GIRL. (Written for the Southland T ime«K There's a giddy little girl. Who is always in a whirl, Of excitement every night, Pirouetting, might and main, To the viol’s dulcet strain, In the rapture of delight. Oh ! it : s round and round she gosa, Like a fairy, on tiptoes, In the mazes of the dance ; While her eyes, like dreaming star*, Shining thro’ their dusky bars, Teas she sways as in a trance. I've a fancy when she lies, In her nest she fondly sighs, For the time to come when she. Will once more go spinning round, To the viol’s dulcet sound, For she’s giddy as can be. ROBERT FRANCISBluff, March 31.
