(Per United Press Association.) FOOTBALL. EASTERN DISTRICT SUB-UNION. The annual meeting of the Eastern District Sub-Union was held last .night, Mr F. Wallis, sent., being in the chair. The report and balance sheet; as published were adopted. The following office bearers were elected: President, Mr F. Wallis, sen.; vice-presidents Messrs McConnell, G. Whittingham and H. Hunter; secretary, Mr C. N. Rabone; treasurer, Mr H. Mac Gibbon; committee, Messrs Nelson, Piller, Castles, Aitken, J. Martin, F. Murray and Francis; selection committee, Messrs F. Wallis, sen., G. Whittingham and H. Hunter; trustees, Messrs F. Wallis, sen., H. Mac Gibbon and G. Whittingaam; auditors, Messrs, T. L. Piller and J. S. Nelson; grounds committee, Messrs Lister, Hunter (Wyndham), McConnell, McPherson (Mataura), Baxter, Plainer (Seaward Downs), G. Gordon, R. Edwards (Pukerau), and Gore members of the sub-union. The opening day was fixed for April 26. A discussion arose over the re-grading of the Seaward Downs club, but the meeting was of the opinion that the club should not be re-graded. AUSTRALIAN VISITORS. SOCCER TEAM’S ITINERARY. WELLINGTON, March 30. The itinerary of the Australian soccer team which is to play throughout New Zealand was received from Messrs Thos. Cook and Sons at a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Football Association last night. It is as follows, subject to a slight alteration: —May 18, leave Sydney per Manuka; May 24, play at Auckland; May 27, Wellington; May 31, Nelson; June 3, Christchurch; June 7, Greymouth; June 10, Dunedin; June 17, first test at Dunedin; June 21, Hamilton; June 24, second test at Auckland; June 28, New Plymouth; July 1, Wanganui; July 5, third test at Wellington; July 13, bail for Sydney. . SCULLING WORLD’S CHAMPIONSHIP BOTH MEN IN SOLID TRAINING WANGANUI, March 30. Hadfield and Paddon are training steadily for their race for the world’s sculling championship, on the Wanganui river on April 18. The weather has interfered somewhat, but. both men have done solid work both on water and land. Paddon is still over weight, but Hadfield is in the pink of condition. Both covered the full distance to-day, pleasing their respective parties. Much interest is being taken in the race and many enthusiasts visit the course daily. The sculling committee, at a meeting last evening, decided to issue invitations to the Governor-General, the Premier, Leader of the Opposition, and the immediate past Premier.
