ALL WORK SUSPENDED, Following on the resolution to suspend work until finance was assured, the South-' land Electric Power Board commenced dispensing with its employees on Friday. When seen by a Southland Times reporter Mr W. Hinchey, acting-chairman, said that Messrs Hay and Vivkerman, electrical engineers to the Board, arrived in Invercargill on Thureday. He discussed the details of closing down operations on Friday, and definite instructions were issued to stop all work and collect the machinery and tools which will be put into store.
