,Wholesale License.—John Petchell, storekeeper, Riverton. In the matter of an application for the renewal of the publican’s license for the Crown Hotel, Otautau, three objections were lodged, viz., by the Inspector of Police, the secretary of the Wallace No-license League and the Otautau Branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. The last objection stated that the license as it existed at present was not necessary and served no useful purpose. The Committee decided to make a personal inspection of the premises on Monday next.

The application for the renewal of the license for the Railway Hotel, Colac, was held over for three months pending repairs being effected. The Committee decided that the Riverton hotel-keepers must keep their lights burning from sunset to sunrise throughout the year.
