GERMANA 7 RAISING A LOAN. WOODEN HOUSES SENT TO FRANCE. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) BERLIN, May 19. The Government is negotiating with big banking firms to realise twelve milliards of Treasury bonds for payment of the Allies’ balance on twenty milliards due on May 1. Twenty-five thousand wooden houses have been sent to France for erection in the devastated areas. DUTCH CLAIMS. INDEMNITIES REFUSED BY GERMANY. AMSTERDAM, May 19. It is officially announced that Germany has declined to pay indemnities for damage Inflicted on Dutch subjects in France and Belgium during the war, but has agreed to Investigate if the Dutch Government projuices evidence substantiating the charges.
