ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Invercargill Railway Library was held on Wednesday. The report stated that owing to the special efforts put forward by the committee the institution had enjoyed a record year in all respects. The membership had increased by 15, and the finance® were £l9 better than in the previous year. The number of books purchased during the year was 420. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr J. K. Lowej chairman of committee, Mr N. Miller; hon. secretary, Mr W. A. Lancaster; hon. treasurer, Mr E. D. Orr; committee, Messrs Littlejohn, Haney, Sherriffs, Shardlow, Philpott, Orange, Black, Cooper, Curie, Brosnan, Newman, Pinly and Kidd; collectors, Messrs Porter, Black, Curie, Pinly and Kidd; auditors, Messrs Mitchell and Newman; social committee, Messrs Black, Orr, Cooper, Pinly, Littlejohn, Harvqy, Philpott and Sherriffs; trustees, Messrs Shardlow, Curie and Cooper; book selectors, Messrs W. A. Lancaster and W. F. Black { librarian and caretaker, Mr R. Porter,
