Failing approval of application applicant applied for tram rights through north part of section. —Application for section refused; application for tram rights adjourned. DISCHARGED SOLDIERS. The following application under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act was approved on renewable lease tenure: — Section 74, block 5, Longwood, ISSac 3r 22p, Norman L. Whipp, CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was dealt with as follows : J. A. Hart applied for grazing application over 30 acres (approximate) in block 7, Longwood district.—Granted. Messrs Coughlan Bros., the lessees of section 382, Terepa Estate, 1141 acres, applied for leave to surrender the lease.—Refused. The engineer Southland County Council requested that the Board allow part of section 48, block 14, Invercargill Hundred, to be taken for road purposes.—Adjourned. Wm. Dawson applied for grazing rights over north-west part of Waikiwi town settlement and offered 30s per acre per annum. —Granted for grazing of cattle only. Waipohatu S.E. Co., per Messrs Longuet and Robertson, applied for a sawmill area over Crown land section 12, block 10, Waikawa S.D., 189 acres with 905 acres reserve, being sections 9. 10, 11, IC, block 10 (total 1094 acres). They also applied for tramway rights along Waipohatu stream through Crown land sections 6 and 7, block 13.—Recommended for approval of Minister of Lands. Tram rights granted from year to year at £1 per annum. Messrs J. W. Swift and Co. applied for permission to break up and sow in grass about 300 acres at Dunrobin station.—Approved. Mrs V. E. Broomhall applied for about 20 seres in block 7, Longwood district, as a grazing right. The Round Hill Mining Company consented subject to certain conditions. —Approved subject to conditions.
W. H. Collie, the soldier lessee of section 11, block 5, Aparima Hundred, 217 acs 3r 36p, applied for leave to surrender same and select section 10 adjoining.—Surrender accepted as from 31/12/20 and application for section 10 recommended for approval of Minister of Lands as from 1/1/21. L. A. Neiderer applied for the timber on sections 18, block 12, 13, block 14, and 46, block 9, Oteramika Hundred, and offered £BS for same.—Recommended for approval of Minister of Lands.
Walker Welsh applied under special tenure for section 25, block 4, Town of Menzies Ferry, 4lac 34p.—Refused. Ranger Collins reported having taken postsession of section 10, block 5, Aparima Hundred, 195 ac Bp.—Received. R. G. Puller, the lessee of section ss, Strathvale settlement, 104 ac lr 2p, requested that the lease be made out in tie names of R. G. and H. C. Pullar. —Approved. George Ait-ken intimated that he wished to surrender his lease of south part of section 22, block S, Wendon district, 2ac 2r 29p.—Surrender accepted. Ranger Traill forwarded a report on area (100 acres approximate) adjoining section 19, block 11, Paterson district to the south. —Recommended that area be set aside as a scenic reserve.
