MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD.
The monthly meeting of (he Southland Technical College Board was held last night, there being present Messrs W. R. Riddell (chairman i, S. McDonald, F. Webb, H. E. Niven, .1. Trotter, J. C. Thomson, W. Mair, W. Ashley, J. H. Reed and W. E. Tait. The Director (Mr W. G. Aldridge) reported that the College roll had fallen to 231 day students at the opening on September 14. The wool-sorting class had been opened in the evenings, and fourteen, pupils had been enrolled.—The report was adopted. The question of appointing outside judges for practical work was left in the bands of the chairman and Messrs W. Ashley and S. McDonald to bring names before the next meeting of the Board. The Otago military headquarters wrote stating that the war trophies promised, four machine guns, would be consigned at the end of the month. Accounts amounting to £6SS Os 6d were passed for payment. The credit at the bank was shown at £1590 14s Id, as against £2247 14s 4d last month.
