TAXI FARES
NEW RATES RECOMMENDED,
The Public. Works Committee will recommend to the Town Council at its meeting to-night, that the following amended .■••chcdulc of taxi-cab and motor car fares be authorised; — From stand within (he area hounded by Gala, Doon, Ness and Tweed streets and foreshore, 2s (id. From stand within area bounded by Louisa and Alice streets along northern boundary of Queen's Park to Elies road, thence along St. Andrew and Ritchie streets across Eastern! to Nelson street, thence along Morrell street and Biggar street to foreshore, 3s. From stand to town boundary in any direction, 4s. No run from stand less than 2s 6cl. No extra charge unless more than four passengers, over four passengers Cd extra each for the number exceeding four. From 10 to II p.m., fare and a half; from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day, fares as arranged; all work by lime, 15s per hour. All motor runs other than above Is fid per mile each way; 5s per Lour to be charged for standing time; booking fee, fid extra.
