DAIRY FACTORY MANAGERS DEATH. WIDOW AWARDED DAMAGES, (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 23. In the Arbitration Court Olive Lyford sued the Hapuku Dairy' Company, Kaikoura, for £SOO damages for the low of her hu-band, who was killed by an accident while in the Company's employ. Ihe deceased wigs manager of the company and usually went between the factory and the I office on a bicycle. On the day of the acj cident he accepted un offer of a lift in a : motor car, when the tyre burst, an accident resulted, and he was killed. The question raisetl was whether in accepting a lift in the motor car he increased the risk of accident in his employment. The Court held that he had taken a recognised means of locomotion, and had acted reasonably. Judgment was given for the amount claimed.
