MANY TRANSFERS. Many transfers of railway officials am announced. Mr P. E. Bean, stationmaster at Lyttelton, who is retiring on superannuation, will be succeeded by Mr W. S. Spindler, of Oaniaru. Mr A. K. Harris, assistant traffic manager of the Christchurch district, has been appoinled traffic manager at Wanganui. Mr T. -I. Brownell, stationmaster at Christchurch, has been appointed chief clerk in the goods department, Christchurch. He will be succeeded as stationmaster by Mr J. W. Woodbury, stationmaster at Hastings. Mr Cameron, who has been acting traffic manager of railways at Greymouth since the death of the late Mr A. H. Mellor, has been permanently appointed to the position. Mr J. L. Morgan, stationmaster at Greymouth for several years past, has been appointed to the position of stationmaster at Palmerston North. Mr Thos. Felton, chief goods clerk at Christchurch, and formerly stationmaster at Reefton, succeeds Mr Morgan at Greymouth. Mr W. J- Hessell, traffic clerk at Greymouth for the Westland section of railways, has been transferred to Dunedin. Mr W. 0. Ennis, of Dunedin, will fill the chief clerkship at Greymouth. Mr R. H. Symons, stationmaster at Lambton, Wellington, has received notice of transfer to take up a similar position in Invercargill in place of Mr W. Kerr, who retired from the service two or three months ago. Mr J. Cameron, who for several years has been in charge of the Invercargill transport branch of the railways, has been promoted to the position of chief clerk, vacated by Mr R. M. Isaacs, who has been transferred to Christchurch. Mr D. Rodie has been appointed transport officer.
