HEAVY RAINS
EXTENDING TO DROUGHT AREA. ENH OF DRY SPELL PREDICTED, (By T'/egraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, December 3. Further heavy rain has fallen in the Eastern parts of the State, and there are indications of an extension of the rain to the far west. The Government Meteorologist states that there is every reason to believe the drought will be broken this month and will be followed by good supplementary rains. MONSOONAL FALL. SYDNEY, December 3. •Rains of a monsoonal character have fallen—in some coastal districts over six inches and in a few dry areas over two. In the wheat areas -with few' excentions there have been good falls, but it .will not benefit crops to the extent it would if it had been weeks earlier. DROUGHT RELIEF BILL PASSED. SYDNEY, December 3. Received December 3, 10.15 p.m. The Assembly passed the Farmers’ Drought Bill.
