REMOVAL OF RESTRICTIONS SOUGHT. (Per United Press Association). WELLINGTON, August 21. A deputation of picture employees representing Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Palmerston North, waited on the Minister of' Public Health to-day and presented a numerously signed petition Asking that the clause in the Public Health Amendment Act, 1918, requiring picture theatres to be closed-during special hours be repealed. The deputation said the clause had .led to the dismissal of a number of picture theatre employees. The Minister said now that health conditions as regards the epidemic appeared normal it was intended to bring down legislation during the coming session to provide for the licensing of picture theatres which' would enable each case to be considered on its merits. The licensing authority would thus be able to differentiate between these classes and theatres whiqh would be open for longer or shorter hours without being inimical to the public health.
