SCHOOL COMMITTEES

QUARTERLY ASSOCIATION MEETING,

The quarterly meeting of the Southland School Committees' Association was held on Saturday when there were thirteen members present. Mr C. H. Paton, president, was in the chair. When a notice of motion to reduce' the quorum of the quarterly meetings was introduced, a member drew the chairman’s attention to the fact that there was no quorum present and left the room. Subsequently a full quorum was obtained, and a resolution reducing the quorum of the quarterly meetings to nine was carried. It was decided that the Association should send a delegate to the conference of School Committee Associations that was to be held in Wellington.

A notice of motion to delete the words “from Western, Eastern and Central” from rule five was tabled. Messrs M. Murray (Waihopai) and A. Bain (North Invercargill) were elected members of the executive.
