WALLACE COUNTY

NEW RATES STRUCK. The Wallace County Council at its meeting yesterday decided to impose the following rates: — A general rate of one penny and oneeighth in the £ in Orepuki and Otautau Ridings; of one penny farthing in the £ in Pourakino, Aparima, Waiau and Wairaki Ridings; of seven-eighths of a penny in the £ in Waimatuku and Mararoa Hidings; of one penny in the £ in Wairio Riding; and a charitable aid rate of one-tenth of a penny in the £ on the capital value of all the rateable property in the County as entered on the Valuation Roll.
