Harold Fitzsimmons applied under the above Act for a section in Monte Christo Settlement. CORRESPONDENCE. Ranger Martin reported on Andrew Small’s complaint re gorse on River Reserve, town of Lumsden.—Report to be referred to the Engineer Public Works Department. Albert Anderson applied for exemption from residence for the ensuing year on section 60, block VII, Oteramika Hd.—Granted. Miss H. S. Jamieson requested that the license of section. 95, block 111, Alton District, 99a 2r 36p, be issued in her name.— Approved. Mrs M. A. Nelson the lease of section 46, block VI, Waikaka District, 7a lr 34p, asked for an extension of time in which to complete required improvements.—Granted 12 months’ time. The Wallace County Council submitted proposals for expenditure of “thirds”, etc., for periods ending 31st July, 1918, and 31st October, 1918, amounts £199 Is 7d and £O2 9s od.—Approved. The Southland County Council submitted proposals for expenditure of "thirds”, etc., for period ending 31st October, 1918, amount £B7 10s 2d. —Approved. The Corporation of South Invercargill submitted proposals for expenditure of "thirds’’ for periods ending 31st July, 1918, and 31st October, 1918, amounts 14/4 and 17/10.—Approved. John S. Lamout applied for three months further grazing on four unlet sections in Stalker Settlement.—Granted from 6/12/18, for three months at £25. A. D. Lesihman applied for a further term of six months’ grazing on section 1, Ardlussa Settlement, as from 20th November, 1918.—Granted at rental of £BO. —. Smith applied for grazing right of 2 acres (approx.), part of section 41, block VII, Longwood District, and offered £1 per annum. —Granted at £1 per annum. Thos. Power, licensee of section 205, Wairio District, 60 acres, applied to surrender his license.—Surrender accepted. New license granted to Messrs Curtin and Egan at £2 per annum. TTie Stewart Island County Council submitted proposals for expenditure of “thirds”, etc., for period ending 31st October, 1918, amount £3B 14s Id.—Approved. James S. Gilmour, lessee of sections 8, block VI, and 3, block VII, Lindhurst Hd., applied for 12 months’ further time in which to effect full improvements required. —Granted time asked for. A. J. Cameron applied for permission to erect two small sheds on iot 4 of run 326 a, Waikaia and V/enclonside. —Approved. Ranger Martin recommended that section 2, block XXXI, Town of Limehills, be temporarily leased to ■ Thomas McGrath at £3 per annum as from 24/8/18.—Approved. perches, be leased temporarily at 5/- per annum, to Thomas Flynn.—Approved. Ranger Martin recommended that section 5/6, block VI, Waikaka Town, be leased to Thomas Keating at 10/- per annum.—Approved.

E. J. Young applied for temporary right over section 59, Tuatapere Extension, No. 2, 1 rood 8 perches, and offers 5/- per annum.—Approved at 5/- per annum. David Lamb, the owner of section 6, blk. VII, Waikaka Town, applied for the feosimple of the old water race intersecting the section, area 13 perches,—Recommended for approval of Hon. Minister of Lands; price £5. ,
