Received September 4, 9.35 p.m. The United States’ war expenditure for August exceeded £340,000,000. RECORD TAXING BILL. DETAILS OF NEW MEASURE. WASHINGTON, Septmber 4. The new Revenue Bill, which is the greatest taxing measure in the history of the nation, will be introduced in the Congress on Tuesday. It yields more than eight billion dollars as compared with 3,914,000,000 last year. The taxes on automobiles will yield 123,000,000; on liquors, 1.137.000. on cigarettes, 165,000,000. The taxes on income are as follows: 2500 income, 30 tax; 5000 income, 180 tax; 10,000 income, 845 tax; 50,000 income, 12,495 tax; 100,000 income, 39,000 tax; 1.000. income, 647,000 tax.
