‘ ALBION THEATRE. “Flames of Chance,” a wholly beautiful Triangle story, is to be screened at the Albion Theatre to-day at 2 p.m. and 7 j p.m. to-night. Jeanette Gontreau is a | pretty typiste in the big offices of the Nai tional Company, and she called one day at I the war relief rooms. Ihat was how it hapj pcned that* three soldiers at Wittenburg j camp called her godmother, :md she was I only eighteen. Then one of the three came | I home in search of a German spy and i j Jeanette is forced to use camouflage to keep j j off an impetuous lover. From this on i 1 there is a thrill every minute, not the least j being the arrest of Jeanette as a spy. Note: Of course it all ends happily, but don’t do any guessing, because you will be wrong. A host of supports include Gaumont Graphic, “An Innocent Villain” (a Triangle scream), and a further budget of Terry’s Human Interest pictures. POPULAR PICTURE PALACE. Clever Dorothy Kelly, who will be favourably remembered in “The Secret Kingdom,” makes her first appearance under the World Film banner in “The Awakening,” the star feature of the new programme to be shown to-day and to-night and two succeeding nights. The great actress is co-starred with Montagu Love, and ! the performance is a remarkable one. Mon- I tagu Love is “The Beast,” an artist of great talent but of rough and disagreeable character. He is universally disliked, but a great change is wrought in him by a young girl whom he finds lost in the snow. This is described as the greatest performance of Montagu Love's career, and the picture has | | created the greatest enthusiasm wherever 1 ' screened. The 12th chapter of “The Neg- : 1 lected Wife” is extremely exciting and is I [ working to a powerful climax. The Topi- i | cal Budget will also be screened.
