Mr Beeby, in a speech, outlined pending industrial legislation, and proposed drastic measures for dealing with unions in possession of awards who strike. Unions may register under the Act or keep outside. If they follow the latter course they must give reasonable notice to the Industrial Department before striking. The arbitration laws must be enforcable and regulated by secret ballots for unions on grave issues, and the control of union entrance fees.
