ITALIAN LOSSES. ROME, September 6. Received September 6, 9.40 p.m. For the week ending 3rd there were 506 arrivals, and 468 departures. Three steamers and one sailing ship were sunk, and one steamer was unsuccessfully attacked. SUBMARINE SHELLS SCARBOROUGH. TWELVE SHELLS ON CROWDED BEACH. VISITOR QUICKLY DEPARTS.

Received September 6, 7.40 p.m. The submarine appeared off Scarborough at seven o’clock in the morning, and opened fire two miles from shore. A dozen shells fell on the seashore, which was crowded with visitors, and others fell in the town. Mine-sweepers returned the fire, and the submarine submerged, and disappeared in a few minutes.
