SEAMEN’S AWARD

A POINT IN DISPUTE. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 5. Delegates of the Federated Seamen's Union, and representatives of shipowners, had a conference yesterday and to-day in regard to the interpretation of the hours clause in the existing agreement as it affects seamen on coastal steamers, but failed to agree. The employers intend approaching the Arbitration Court for an interpretation of the clauses in dispute.
