MANSLAUGHTER CASE

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 16. After a two days’ trial at Palmerston George Jackson was found guilty of the manslaughter of his son Thomas at Raumai on June 29. The accused made the following statement : “I did not intend to wound Tom. 1 saw a row was coming and thought a knife would frighten him. I did not know I had struck him. I loved my boy.” He was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.
