THE ROLL OF HONOUR

I.IEUT, H. D, TENOTNT. Mr B. i l . Tennent, manager of the ( Bank of Xew South Wales, Invercargill, ha.s been advised by cable that his son, Lieut. Harold I). Tennent was admitted to hospital in France, on May 7th, suffering from a severe compound fracture of the radius caused by a gunhot wound. Lieut. Harold Tennent, like ills brother Lieut. Hugh (who as already reported was wounded in action on nth May), is an officer with the Second Battalion, llrd X'.Z. Rille Brigade. The two brothers were, therefore, wounded within two days; possibly both were wounded in the same action, as though Lieut. Harold was admitted to the hospital on 7th May, he may have received his wound on sth May. Lieut. Harold D. Tennent was born in Xew Zealand, but left the dominion with the 9th X.Z. Contingent to take part in the Boer War. After the South African war he settled down in South Africa, and at the outbreak of this war enlisted in the Natal Light Horse and served under General Botha through the campaign in German SouthWest Africa. By the time operations were successfully completed there he had risen to the rank of Sergeant. Along with Lieut. Hugh Tennent, then also a Sergeant, he came over to New Zealand. Both enlisted in the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, entered the N.C.O. camp and gained commissions, and both, after being thus associated in fighting in South Africa and in France, were wounded within two days and possibly in the same action. Advices indicate that Lieut!, Hugh Tennent may be invalided home to New Zealand.
