Received April 26, 6.15 p.m. The Admiralty has issued the following return in connection with the submarine blockade for the past week:— Arrivals 2588 Sailings .. 2621 Sinkings— Over 1600 tons 40 Under ,1600 tons 15 Unsuccessfully attacked.. 27 Fishing boats sunk .... 9 The figures for the previous week and the aggregates for the past eight weeks are as follows: Lost week. Eight weeks. Arrivals ~ .. 2379 19,099 Sailings .. .. 2331 19,173 Sinkings— Over 1600 tons.. .. 19 154 Under 1600 tons .. 16 164 Unsuccessfully attacked 15 130 Fishing boats sunk .12 60 XT BOAT SOTTK. BY ABUSED AMERICAN STEAMER. NEW YORK, April 25. Received April 26, 3.20 p.m. Advices from London state that the Captain of the armed American steamer Mongolia, says that on April 19th he fired at a submarine which was preparing to attack the Mongolia at a range of 1000 yards. The periscope was hit and the submarine was undoubtedly sunk.
