Harbour Board, agents. SAILED. April 18—Theresa Ward, 9 tons, Hamilton, for Half moon Bay. Harbour Board, agents. The G.s. Hinemoa left Wellington on IGth Inst., and is expected in Bluff some time next week. The coastal steamer Kotare was fixed to leave Dunedin late yesterday afternoon for Bluff and Invercargill. She will be due back in Dunedin about Sunday with* a cargo of timber from Stewart Island. The ferry steamer Maori arrived at Wellington at 9 a.m. yesterday from Lyttelton. In consequence of the coal strike the vessel will lay up at Wellington for an indefinite period. The Union Company advise that the Rosamond arrived at Wellington at 5.30 o'clock on Tuesday night from New Flymouth with a shipment of cheese. She was expected to leave Wellington yesterday with general cargo for Bluff and Dunedin. The vessel should arrive early next week, and on completion of discharge will load general cargo for Wellington. In the new waterside agreement submitted to the “stop work" meeting of the Wellington Waterside Workers’ Union, a clause is included dealing with the much-discussed "Burtoo’’ block, as follows; —The "Burton” block may be used, but same to bo properly rigged and the gear to be effleient and suitable. Proper supervision to be exercised when the “Burton'’ gear is in use. In the event of complaints as to gear an expert committee to examine same shall be set up jointly by the employers and the union. When two "Burtons’’ are used on the one winch a competent winchman to be employed. MONOWAI TO BE WITHDRAWN. The Monowai, which.was delayed at Auckland on Monday on account of heavy rain, was to have left the northern port early yesterday afternoon for East Coast ports and Dunedin. As the vessel will be running one day late she will probably not arrive at Dunedin until next Tuesday morning. After discharging her cargo the Monowai will be withdrawn from the East Coast service, and laid up at Fort Chalmers indefinitely. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April IS. Mr Bates’ weather summary;— Cold and squally conditions have prevailed with heavy showers In most parts, and strong southerly winds have ruled. Atmospheric pressure has increased rapidly everywhere. Present indications are for cold, changeable weather, with passing showers, especially in the northern and east coast districts. Strong southeasterly winds are probable, squally at times, northward of Cook Strait. The barometer Is rising further in the north.
