Received July 25, 8.10 p.m. Turkish communique: The cruiser Midiilieh, formerly the Breslau, encountered south of Sebastopol a strong enemy squadron, comprising a new dreadnought of the Empress Maria class and four destroyers. After four hours’ fighting the Midiilieh evaded efforts to cut her off and returned undamaged. A Turkish monitor attacked two enemy monitors on the Euphrates, setting one afire.
