DROWNING ACCIDENT AT MATAiriIA. Our Mataura correspondent advises that on Sunday afternoon a (Ive-year-old twin son of Mr Andrews, baker, for Messrs Mac Gibbon and Rons, was standing on the bank, just below the bridge, of the Mataura river, into which tie was throwing stones, when he lost his balance and fell into the stream. He was seen to disappear by some passers-by, but the body has not yet been recovered. The bank over which the child fell is described as a rook precipice.
