WELLINGTON, July 12. Following is Mr Bates’ weather sum•»iary for the past 24 hours—Atmospheric pressure is now above normal, but the weather continues cold, gloomy, and I showery hi many parts of the dominion, and snow has fallen on some of the higher parts of the South Island. Variable winds have been experienced, with moderate to strong southerlies predominating. Forecast; Present indications are for moderate to strong south to south-east-erly winds generally. Expect cold and changeable conditions, with scattered ■bowers, the barometer rising and probably high everywhere.
