BELIEF EXPEDITION

AURORA’S PREPARATIONS, (Per United Press .Association.) J, DUNEDIN, July 11. Repairs to the Aurora are being pushed on rapidly at Port Chalmers, and Captain Stenhouse is daily expecting instructions to proceed to Falkland Islands to pick up the men stranded on Elephant Island. During the last two days 22 men have been placed by the Government at the disposal of the contractors, and a great deal of assistance in the way of timber has been received from the Government, and tlie Harbour Hoard. If the vessel is required to visit Elephant Island she will need to leave Dunedin again in December to rescue Captain Macintosh and the party in Ross Sea.
