LESS DRUNKENNESS. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY, February 22. Received February 22, 11.33 p.m. At the Central Police Court there were twelve charges of drunkenness on Alonday morning, about a quarter of the usual average prior to the early closing regulation. Other Courts had a similar experience. STATE ACTION DISCUSSED. A REFERENDUAI SUGGESTED. SYDNEY, February 22. Received February 23, 1.10 a.m. After further Cabinet consideration of the early closing proposals Mr Holman (Premier) stated that the decisions reached would be referred to a caucus. Other sources state that it is possible a Bill will be submitted to Parliament with approval of the caucus for submission of the whole question to a referendum. MORE WATER FOR SYDNEY. SYDNEY, February 22. Received February 22, 11.35 p.m. The City Council decided to erect more drinking fountains in. the streets. The weather is generally very sultry.
