February 21—Paloona. 1766 tons. Brown, for Dunedin. U.S.S. Co., agents The Paloona reached Bluff at 3. 1 d p.m. yesterday, and discharged 60 cases (separators, 16.7 gallons carbide, f* I cases tea, 60 rolls wire netting, -MO bags salt, 107 bars metal, 300 bags phosphate, 15 cases wine. 100 bags rice, and 63 bags potatoes. She sailed at 0 p.m. for Dunedin, after loading 150 tons of general coastwise cargo. The New Zealand Shipping Co.’s liner Arrino, at present loading at Bluff, will take away SoOO bales of wool and 300 casks of tallow from this port. The Arrino, which is commanded by Captain Nordant, will sail for London direct. The Union Company announce that the Wanaka will load at Bluff for Napier, Gisborne and Auckland about 2Sth inst., provided her overhaul is completed in time. . „ . An illustration of the effect of the war on shipping was noticeable at Auckland on Thursday, when (states the Herald) the oversea and inter-cotonial filiipping in port was represented by one steamer and three sailing vessels. The steamer was the Tensho Maru, a Japanese vessel, with a cargo of sulphui and superphosphates, and the sailing vessels were the Golden Gate from San Francisco, the barque Louisa Craig, and the barque Manunui. In stream was the barquentine Lindstol, whilst the barque Activ sailed for Sydney in the afternoon.
