LAND DEAL

FRA V UL'LEXT STATES!EXTS. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, February 21. At the Supreme Court Air Justice Copper gave judgment in the action, Jno. Williams Bines v. Edwin Clements, claiming £.200 damage in connection with negotiations for the purchase of plaintiff of certain land in the Whangarei district. His' Honour held that the statements made by the defendant were false and fraudulent, that they were for the purpose of inducing plaintiff to buy the property and that they were a material factor in inducing plaintiff to buy. His Honour’s opinion was that £IOO was a fair sum for damage, and gave judgment for that amount, with costs on the lower scale.
