DESTRUCTION OF ROMAN CATHOLICS IN AMERICA. WHOLESALE MURDER CONTEMPLATED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright) NEW YORK, February Hi, Chicago reports as a se«iuol to a recent banquet to a visiting Roman Catholic Bishop when 3MO guests suffered from eating poisoned soup, that tho police claim to have discovered a plot to destroy the church buildings, clergy, and laity in twelve cities in the United States. They seized the correspondence of John Allegrini and Jean (Tamones, two members of an alleged committee of fifteen which was at the head of the plot. The correspondence seized included descriptions of homhs to wreck the buildings ami kill churchgoers. Tho plans to destroy churches pointed to forty Chicago churches where fires have occurred do ring the last lew years, and to the recent attempt to blow up a Slate penitentiary.
