HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORTS

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, February 14. The High Commissioner reports from London, February 13. Several German attempts have been made against our lines in Belgium. All failed. The enemy has penetrated a small salient of our line between Navartin and St. Souplet. Counter-attacks are still being delivered vainly by the enemy in the Butte de Mesnil region. Wc are advancing in the eastern portion and taking more prisoners. There have been futile enemy infantry attacks in the Vosges, north of Wisembach. The High Commissioner reports, London, 13th Fezruary, 5 p.m.:— North-eastooff f Soisson, following on a bombardment, the Germans reached the French trenches near Grouy road, but an immediate counter-attack repelled them, leaving many dead and prisoners. In Champagne, north-east of de Mesnil, the enemy directed five sucCe-s----•sive counter-attacks on trie evening or yesterday,'and in the course of the night on the trenches captured by the French. All were repulsed. The French Admiralty state that grave fears are entertained for the fate of the cruiser Admiral Chanter, off the coast of Syria, in view of the German claim that a submarine sank a French warship. , The High Commissioner reports London. 14th, 2,35 p.m.: A scries of Gorman attacks from Hill 3 40 to Neuville - La Folic positions were delivered in the afternoon at four points. Three were completely checked. At the fourth point the enemy was able to pierce our first lino of trenches west of Hill 140, but was immediately ejected by; a counter-attack.

An enemy aeroplane was brought down east of Giveneby. The enemy attempts were stopped at Soissons.

In the course of an action between Navarin and St. Soupet we took prisoner some of the enemy who obtained a footing in our first line on the Taliure road.

Potrograd: Naval authorities state that there was a successful battle in the Black Sea against the Turkish batteries.
