AERIAL ACTIVITIES

RAID OH ITALY. 15 CIVILIANS KILLED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright) ROME, February Inofficial; Enemy aeroplanes raided Codigoro and Ravenna, Fifteen civilians were, killed, including several woman and children. Many were injured. Bombs hit the hospital and church at Ravenna. THE HEW ZEPPELINS. BERNE, February 13. Tiie newspaper Der Bund states that the Germans claim that they can finish one Zeppelin a week. These are tested at Lake- Constance, where sometimes two new airships can be seen cruising together. Motors from the great motor factory at Maiback are tested during forty-eight hours’ uninterrupted work on gondolas. Zeppelines are now covered with armour, and carry machine-guns and quick-firers, together with a special device for throwing aerial torpedoers. The latest invention is the creation of artificial clouds around the Zeppelin while it is flying by releasing great volumes of fumes which make the airship almost invisible from the ground. Their speed, power, and manceuvrlng capacity have been greatly improved recently. VIGOROUS REPRISALS UEGED AGAINST MEN, FACTORIES AND AERODROMES ZEPPELINS SHOULD BE WOBBLED LONDON, February 14. Received February 14, 10.50 p.m. The Daily Mail rejoices that Sir S. O. Buckmaster objects to reprisals on women and children, but contends that vigorous reprisals are needed against men, munition factories, and aerodromes. We have sufficient aeroplanes in England to prevent Zeppelins approaching, but they are in the wrong places. There is no evidence that the lighting of a train directed the movements of Zeppelins. They would not worry us if our acroplances persistently worried them in their own nests or when voyaging to England.
