SIR DOUGLAS HAIG
A FRENCH APPRECIATION. A pen-portrait in the Illustration of Sir Douglas Haig describes him as a man of push rough -hewn, and a perfect tj pe of the cavalrymen. The French soldiers call him “Legs of Steel, and admire his tall, strapping, big-chestod, well-set-up frame. “With Sir Douglas Haig at its head, concludes the Illustration, the British Army will not sleep.”
