"We had an electric sign near and within direct view of tire best corner in Indianapolis. The sign cost a rental of OOdol. a month, but we were never able to trace any sale to this medium. H T. Conner, prominently identified with the retail slice trade of Baltimore and Indiana, has had considerable experience with various forms of ad\ertising. in speaking of these experiences Mr Conner said: "T have just cancelled six painted display boards in Baltimore. I hardly believe we can trace lOOdol wortil of business to these boards, while they cost approximately HOOOdol. “I don’t think that car advertising is even worth talking about. We advertised a sale and it was a joke. I later advertised- in the newspapers and sold my short lines.” Newspaper advertising Mr Conner said, is easily the best and most effective'medium, as well as least expensive in the long run.
